Cameras Aren’t Allowed In White House Press Briefings, So CNN Got Creative

By Wendy Gittleson on June 23, 2017 6:28 pm
    ·
Cameras have been banned from White House press briefings, so CNN, and possibly other news outlets, have come up with a decidedly not 21st century solution. They are sending a sketch artist to cover the briefings.

Bill Hennessy, the network’s regular sketch artist for Supreme Court proceedings, headed over to the White House on Friday afternoon and drew Press Secretary Sean Spicer’s afternoon briefing.

He didn’t have his usual easel, but he stood in the back of the briefing room to document the scene.

@CNN Trump not allowing TV coverage of White House briefings is the equivalent of putting blindfolds on the American people. And it's DESPICABLE.

Sketch artists have long been common to courtrooms, but they are a novelty for the White House, at least for the last quarter of a century. Every presidential administration for the last 25 years has allowed cameras in the press briefings, but now that the heat is on in the Russia investigation and now with an administration that lies more often than they tell the truth, news outlets have to get creative and good old analog sketch drawings it is. Hennessy isn’t exclusive to CNN. There’s a chance other news outlets might do the same thing.

Alienating the media is perhaps one of the worst decisions in an administration full of nothing but bad decisions. The Bush administration got away with sending us into two illegal wars because they were nice to the media. Instead, the Trump administration has nothing but hostility toward the mainstream media and as a result, for the first time since cameras were allowed in press briefings, the mainstream media is doing its job. In other words, Trump can credit the media near blackout for his low approval numbers and even for the aggressive approach to the Russian investigation.

Trump Might Have Just Put Himself In Prison With MAJOR Mistake During Twitter Tantrum

By Stephen D Foster Jr on June 25, 2017 11:23 am
        ·
Donald Trump is now trying to tweet his way out of being investigated for collusion. He screwed himself over instead.

Only a day after he admitted that Russia did interfere with the 2016 Election to help him win and blamed President Obama for it, Trump is now admitting that he colluded with them.

If Trump were smart, he would be keeping his mouth shut, but for some reason he is convinced that he can be his own best defender. BIGLY mistake!

You see, Trump apparently attempted to excuse his collusion with Russia by using the “but she did it, too” defense. It’s the same kind of defense one would expect from a child who got caught doing something wrong.

According to Trump, he should not be investigated or charged with committing collusion because Hillary Clinton supposedly colluded with the Democratic Party against Bernie Sanders.

        Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump
Hillary Clinton colluded with the Democratic Party in order to beat Crazy Bernie Sanders. Is she allowed to so collude? Unfair to Bernie!
        8:00 AM - 25 Jun 2017

Frankly, it’s hard to prove that Hillary Clinton did anything wrong in order to beat Bernie Sanders. After all, she won by a pretty damn large margin. She won by a huge 12 point margin. It was not even close, though Bernie Sanders’ effort was admirable and did have significant impact. He did get to help write the Democratic Party platform in the end.

The point is, there was no “collusion,” which means Trump’s desperate attempt to excuse his collusion with a foreign nation against our own democracy is incredibly pathetic. The only thing Trump did is basically admit that he colluded with Russia. Special prosecutor Robert Mueller and his team are going to have a field day with this tweet. Now we know why major law firms refused to represent Trump. No self-respecting attorney wants a guilty client who can’t shut up.

At this point, Trump is his own worst enemy. He is the “leaker” he has been whining about.

He has incriminates himself with his tweets and it’s time for him to be impeached and put in prison where he belongs.

Those word salads are very entertaining. If you get the chance how about a copy and paste of CNN's story retraction for reporting fake news. You know, to keep it fair and balanced.

The thing that most concerns me about Trump is his inability to tell a simple truth. He goes out on these campaign rallies ( which we are paying for now that he is president ) and just spews BS. And then his faithful pick it up as truth.

Report: Russian ambassador Kislyak being recalled amid election controversy

              Ray Locker , USA TODAY 3:17 p.m. ET June 25, 2017

              LINKEDIN
WASHINGTON — Sergey Kislyak, Russia's ambassador to the United States and a key player in his nation's interference in the 2016 elections here, is being recalled by his government, according to a report released Sunday.

Citing three unnamed sources, BuzzFeed News reported that Kislyak is scheduled to leave Washington next month, following a July 11 going-away party for him at the St. Regis Hotel, just two blocks away from the White House.

Kislyak, 66, had been reported to be heading to New York to lead Russia's delegation at the United Nations. His return to Russia will mark the end of his 10-year tenure as Russia's leading diplomat to the United States and makes him another casualty of the growing controversy over the Russian activity.

Kislyak has been a key figure in the growing investigation by a special counsel and multiple congressional committees into Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election that put President Trump in the White House.

Two key Trump administration officials, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and adviser Jared Kushner, had meetings with Kislyak last year that they failed to disclose to congressional and federal officials. Sessions recused himself in March from any Justice Department investigation into the Russian interference, in part because of his unreported contacts with Kislyak.

In May, the Associated Press reported that Kushner and Kislyak tried to set up a secret back-channel communications line with Russia that would have used Russian equipment.

On May 10, Trump met with Kislyak and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in the Oval Office.

During that meeting, Trump shared classified intelligence information with the Russians and bragged about firing FBI Director James Comey, whom he called a "nut job."

Mighty fine timing for getting out of the frying pan.... Wouldn't y'all say ...???
Wait..... Most likely it's fake news ... !!!

HERE IS A COMPREHENSIVE AND UP TO DATE LIST OF ALL THE ALLIES TRUMP HAS OFFENDED

BY WENDY GITTLESON NEWS, POLITICS JUNE 25, 2017

Donald Trump rode into the presidency with all the political savvy, intellectual curiosity and diplomatic skills of a bully who’s about to repeat the 5th grade. For many of his supporters, many of whom presumably were bullies who had to repeat 5th grade, that’s exactly his appeal. So why should it surprise anyone that Trump has managed to offend ally after ally while in office? That’s what he was elected to do.

Still, nothing in Trump’s first 156 (and counting) days in office seems intentional. On some level, he seems to want to be a diplomat, if for no other reason than to have a legacy, but every single time he tries, he falls flat on his corpulent face.

Just last week, for example, Trump sent his son-in-law, Jared Kushner to try to negotiate peace between Israel and Palestine. It went about as well as you’d imagine. Kushner, who is Orthodox Jewish ad a family friend of Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, met with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, and according to Palestinians, came armed only with a list of Israeli demands.

Of course, Palestine was far from the first diplomatic blunder of the Trump administration. Here’s a list of all the countries, most of whom are allies, that Trump has offended:

                Mexico

Mexico almost didn’t make this list because, well, Trump ran on a campaign of hatred for all things Mexican (except for the cheap labor that makes his cheap ties and suits). His first campaign promise was to build a wall along the Mexican border, but a feud between Trump and Mexico’s President Enrique Peña Nieto has turned into somewhat of a regular fixture in the Twittersphere.

                Australia

One of Trump’s very first moves in office included a phone call to Australia’s Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull. After a heated discussion about Syrian refugees, Trump hung up on the world leader.

                Sweden

Trump’s entire schtick is about creating fear in the hearts and minds of his voters, so much so that he has been known to make up events just to convince people the world is a scary place. In February, he made up a terror attack in Sweden during a rally in Florida (yes, the man who won the Electoral College in November and who has innumerable better things to do is still holding campaign style rallies throughout the country).

“You look at what’s happening in Germany. You look at what’s happening last night in Sweden. Sweden! Who would believe this? Sweden! They took in large numbers, they’re having problems like they never thought possible
Nothing had happened the night before in Sweden.

                Germany

Donald Trump has a complicated relationship with smart, powerful women – especially if they aren’t leggy, blonde and share his DNA. His relationship with Germany’s chancellor, Angela Merkel began badly in March, when Trump famously refused to shake her hand. That was only the beginning. Read on for more.

                China

In April, Trump hosted the Chinese President Xi Jinping for dinner at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. While the men were enjoying “the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake that you’ve ever seen,” Trump revealed that he was lobbing missiles at Iraq Syria. While this wasn’t really an insult, it did show President Xi that Trump couldn’t be trusted to keep secrets. Before that, though, Trump often referred to China as a “currently manipulator” After he took office, Trump accepted a congratulatory call from Taiwan. This was a clear violation of U.S. foreign policy, Taiwan as part of China.

                Israel

If there is a single ally that nearly every Trump supporter can get behind, it’s Israel. While Trump’s relationship with Israel is not too bad, at least compared to much of the world, one of perhaps his biggest international blunders came when he traded Israeli secrets with Russians. Oh, and there was also the time Trump told Israelis, while in Israel, that he “just got back from the Middle East.” Israel, of course, is in the Middle East.

                Montenegro

Trump shoved the Prime Minister so he could get to the front of a photo op.

                NATO and Europe in general

Not satisfied with offending just one country at a time, Trump took on all the European allies by calling them NATO deadbeats. He singled out Germany by calling them “bad, very bad,” because Americans love to buy their cars. He insulted Europe in general by telling them that it’s too hard to build golf courses there.

                Canada

For Trump, offending our neighbor to the south isn’t enough. He’s had a long-running feud with Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who is Trump’s political superior in nearly every way imaginable. In May, Trump referred to Trudeau as “Justin from Canada.”

                — The Hill (@thehill) May 28, 2017

                England

Trump has also managed to offend one of our oldest allies, England. Well, not England as a whole — its capital, London. Trump has been irrationally critical of London Mayor Sadiq Khan’s handling of terror attacks in London. Khan responded by asking that Trump’s upcoming state visit be cancelled.

                The Entire F*cking World

Donald Trump’s retreat from the Paris Climate Accord was perhaps his most offensive diplomatic move to date. There are only two countries that did not sign on to the agreement: Syria and Nicaragua. The First because they are in the middle of a civil war and the second because the agreement doesn’t go far enough. Trump did it to appease his climate denier base. The world will be a dirtier place because of it.

Julian Assange: Democratic Party 'Doomed' Because Collusion Narrative Is a 'Political Dead-End'

                  by Ken Meyer | 6:57 pm, June 24th, 2017

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange posted a Twitter statement on Saturday, writing that the Democratic Party will meet its death once it becomes clear that Donald Trump did not win the presidency by colluding with Russian election-meddling.

< .@WikiLeaks‘ editor @JulianAssange on why the US Democratic party is doomed: pic.twitter.com/R4Ds630aRf

                  — Julian Assange (@JulianAssange) June 24, 2017 >

As investigations continue into Russia’s actions, Assange blasted the Democrat party elite for creating a narrative of “hysteria” to maintain control over their remaining political power. After slamming Democrats for their strategic choices in recent years, Assange concluded that the party will be “doomed” once the Russia investigation determines there’s no incriminating evidence on Trump:

< “The Trump-Russia collusion narrative is a political dead end. Despite vast resources, enormous incentives and a year of investigation, Democratic senators who have seen the classified intelligence at CIA HQ such as Senator Feinstein (as recently as March) are forced to admit that there is no evidence of collusion. Without collusion, we are left with the Democratic establishment blaming the public for not liking the truth about what Hillary Clinton said to Goldman Sachs and blaming their own base for not liking what they said in their own emails about about fixing the DNC primaries.” >

End Congressional And Media Obsession With The Trump-Russia Hoax

                    TOP

Up to now, I have not written extensively about the allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia for the simple reason that the accusations are so specious, opportunistic, and defamatory that I did not want to dignify them by acknowledging their existence. In some ways, I wish President Trump had done the same. It is generally better to ignore baseless, incendiary claims like these than it is to show perturbation, and thus encourage your tormenters.

Today, though, I would first like to make two points, which I hope will help bring this “matter” (thanks to Loretta Lynch for this suggested terminology) to a close. First, President Trump was never under investigation by the FBI for colluding with Russia. Vast amounts of allegedly damaging material have been leaked about “contacts” between Trump supporters and Russians in the last few months. Absolutely none of it corroborates the central claim of Trump haters: that Trump, or anyone close to Trump, conspired with the Russians to hack the DNC or John Podesta, subvert the election, or otherwise act against the interests of the United States. Various figures associated with the Trump campaign talked to various Russians, true – but that is proof of nothing. If evidence to prove Trump-Russia collusion hasn’t materialized yet, despite the best efforts of the intelligence community, the FBI, and the mainstream media to find it, it seems highly unlikely that it will appear in the future. Indeed, it is virtually inconceivable, since the allegations of collusion never made any sense to begin with. Even Democrats are beginning to acknowledge this fact by subtly pivoting from charges of collusion to charges of obstruction of justice. In other words, the well has run dry for those who believe that President Trump can be taken down based on phony charges of collusion with Russia. It is time for this leftist narrative to disappear into the dustbin of history, where it belongs.

Second, while we learned relatively little from former FBI Director James Comey’s recent testimony in Congress, we did receive an intriguing summary of the left’s new anti-Trump attack plan, based on charges of obstruction, and it is worthwhile to recap just how thin these accusations are. James Comey, who made it plain that he disliked President Trump from the beginning, kept notes allegedly based on his meetings with Trump. He then seriously compromised his professional ethics and broke the law by leaking those notes to the New York Times, in order to draw attention to pressure that the President supposedly placed on him to drop the investigation into General Flynn, Trump’s former National Security Advisor. Comey alleges that Trump said, “I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go…” And that mild statement, vigorously denied by Trump himself, and uncorroborated by any third party, is apparently most of what a charge of obstruction would be based on – that, plus the fact that Trump fired Comey.

Now, is there plenty of evidence, from Trump’s private and public statements, that he dislikes the Russia inquiry in general and considers it a politically-motivated sham? Absolutely. A charge of obstruction of justice, however, in order to stick, must be backed by more than this, and more than the biased testimony of an aggrieved, grandstanding Trump-hater. It bears repeating that there are multiple, ongoing investigations, in Congress, in the media, in law enforcement, and in intelligence circles, related to Russian interference in the 2016 election, and President Trump has taken no official action to impede any of them. Neither his (alleged) statements to Comey nor his dismissal of Comey had the slightest effect on any of these inquiries, except perhaps to add fuel to the fire of the left’s Trump-Russia witch hunt. Yes, Trump abhors the selective leaks that have poured out of these investigations; he resents the false narrative that has been spun based on mere innuendo and often on inaccurate and sloppy reporting; and he strongly and rightly defends himself and his closest advisors from baseless accusations. None of that behavior, however, meets the legal or even the commonsensical definition of obstruction of justice. All of it, instead, is exactly the sort of reaction you would expect from an innocent man, exasperated by the underhandedness of his political enemies. Democrats would like to suggest that exasperation is proof of guilt. Far from it: it is proof that President Trump is a living, breathing human being with a normal instinct for self-preservation. And that, as far as I know, is not yet a crime.

The irony is that the inquiries into Russian meddling in the election, and the contacts between Trump campaign officials and Russians, were encouraged by many Republicans in Congress at the outset. Perhaps they imagined that the investigations would be a convenient way to stigmatize the government of Vladimir Putin, which many in Washington seem to despise. Perhaps they harbored some resentment against President Trump himself, and took pleasure in his discomfiture. Whatever Republicans’ motivations were for helping to open this can of worms, they must now face the fact that the Russia inquiries, as a whole, have become a fiasco, a travesty, and an unnatural obsession for the media and for the left. Months have passed, most of the juiciest morsels of information have long since been leaked, and we are no closer to proving collusion, or treason, or obstruction, than we were initially.

Therefore, I call on Republicans in Congress, and throughout the nation, to support:

the termination of all Congressional inquiries into Russian meddling and the Trump-Russia connection
a strict “no comment” policy from Republicans vis-a-vis these matters, with all further questions to be directed to the special counsel’s office and/or White House lawyers
the replacement of Robert Mueller as special counsel with someone free of ties to James Comey, and without any vested interest in the outcome of the investigation.
In other words, Republicans should unify and drive a stake through the heart of the ridiculous political sideshow that this “matter” has become. Let President Trump do his job; let Republicans and Democrats in Congress do theirs; and, if any law has been broken in connection with Russian meddling or obstruction of justice, let the FBI and the special counsel investigate and act accordingly. That, I daresay, is how this business should have been handled in the first place.

TRUMP CLAIMS OBAMA ‘COLLUDED’ WITH RUSSIA AND GETS LAUGHED OFF TWITTER (TWEETS)

Posted by John Prager on 26 Jun 2017

On Monday, Donald Trump continued his multi-day meltdown over the Russia investigation. With the walls closing in around him, The Donald has recently attempted a new tactic when dealing with the fact that his associates (and probably he personally) are going to prison for working with Vladimir Putin to subvert our democracy — blaming Obama.

“The reason that President Obama did NOTHING about Russia after being notified by the CIA of meddling is that he expected Clinton would win,” Trump tweeted, stupidly adding that Obama “did not want to ‘rock the boat’.”

That’s right — Obama colluded with Russia — not Trump. Sure, that claim doesn’t make sense at all, but whatevs. Trump wants you to know that the real story is that Obama did “NOTHING” about Russia.

Interestingly, he seems to finally admit that Obama didn’t “tapp” his “wires.” Then, despite his accusation that Obama colluded with Russia and obstructed, he claims there was “no collusion and no obstruction.” President Snowflake even had the nerve to demand an apology in his typical neanderthalic way:

Donald Trump threw another temper tantrum on Twitter as the investigation closes in on him.

You know that the investigation must be getting closer to nailing Trump to the wall by how he is acting right now.

Over the last few days, Trump has been trying to blame his crimes on President Obama and Hillary Clinton while simultaneously insisting that no crimes were committed.

It has been a hilarious circular firing squad that Trump can’t seem to stop stepping in the middle of, which is exactly the reason why top law firms in this nation want nothing to do with him.

And on Tuesday morning, Trump threw another hissy fit and accused President Obama of colluding with Russia.

You heard that right. Trump just accused President Obama of committing treason against the United States and then he claimed that no collusion exists. Trump then demanded an apology.

These are the rantings and ravings of a desperate man who knows that his time as president and a free man is running out. The reason why President Obama could not act at the time is because Trump was claiming that the election was rigged. Any move Obama made to stop Russia would have drawn cries of election rigging by Trump, especially had he lost due to Russia being stopped. Also, the extent of the meddling was still under investigation and Obama still retaliated by slapping sanctions against Russia prior to leaving office, the very same sanctions Trump is trying to remove.

By accusing President Obama of treason, Trump has crossed yet another line, demonstrating once and for all that he is unfit to hold office and should be impeached.
