XV1000 first build // Ozzy

Hi guys,
im Gab, 20yo living in Montreal Canada. Last winter I bought a 1984 Virago XV1000 for 500$, I was tryin to see where I could end up with it. I know its not the prettiest bike ever made but I think I made something a lil more acceptable out of it! Lets see what you guys think, keep in mind that this was my first build ever, but definetly not my last one!

Here are some picture of the bike with the crank case and clutch cover removed so i could send them to the sand blast with the tank and front fender.

Heres the painted result did the job myself using cans

Then i proceeded to cut the rear end of the frame and tore the bike down to Frame, motor and swing arm. Deleted the reserve tank and the fuel pump, I bought a 2 into 1 manifold from Searayguy on ebay for the single carb conversion

I shortened the fork by 2" using Progressive supension spring and spacers. Painted the fork and triple tree in the mean time. I also received my rear fender from panic cycles as you can see on the picture
Swing arm was also painted black

then it was time for me to start building the bike back. Here's the fork
Parts were coming in, received my crocodile skin solo seat, the new handlebars and the new rear suspension wich are from a Honda rebel 250

now Ozzy is starting to look like something a little bit meaner than when it first entered my garage these are the last pictures that I have on my phone as of right now im going to post a couple more once I get back home, tell me what you guys think so far ?!

2nd gen XV750/1000/1100 are quite rare here, I am happy every time I see a custom one!

I have a '96 Xv750.

I think you need a hoop around behind the seat- the cut off tubing just looks so unfinished, and doesn't flow well.

thanks guys ! and no worry about the tubing its just a matter of time before i start welding things up and im going to give it a great look !
