    Default Ironhead build

Hey guys, I know this has been asked 1000 times but I couldn't find any solid answers. I bought a pre 70's ironhead frame to put my 82 ironhead in, it's my first time building a bike so of course I didn't make sure everything would fit properly and I guess it doesn't. What exactly would I need to do to put my 82 motor in the pre 70's frame?

I would make sure your title and paperwork shit is in order first. You are dealing with two different VIn systems now and it may not even be able to be registered in your state.

That motor won't fit in that frame without significant modification. You're not going to be able to do it in your garage with a hacksaw and a Mig welder. A few years ago someone on another forum modified a pre 77 frame for a post 77 motor and it took a lot more work than you'd think. Look for a titled 77-78 frame. that way you'll have the early frame geometry, no fitment issues, and no title problems.
