    My Yamaha 650 Dragstar

    Hey Guys

My name is Simon and I just joined this awesome forum. I love all bikes and currently ride a Yamaha 650. Figured I would start by introducing my bike.

I purchased the bike around 6 years ago. Second hand and from a dealer.

Over the years I have made more and more changes. She is currently in pieces again. I am re-wiring everything so nothing shows. But I will come back to that in another thread.

Other than that I enjoy turing around Europe and Norway where I live.

I usually photoshop up my plans before ordering parts as they are really expensive here in Norway. My main visual changes for this winter will be blacked-out wheels and 12/14 inch black apes.

        Something like this.

Nice! How did you go about raising the tank?

Its quite easy actually. Grab a bit of pipe the same diameter as the inside of the front rubber mounds. Cut a length of the pipe a little shorter than the distance between the mounts on the tank. Poke the pipe through the bike so it rests against the under side of the backbone tubes. Throw some zip ties through the holes in the frame webbing (top of frame). Tighten and you are ready to go. I have always planned to finally weld it in place but been like that for 4 years now with no issues. I will post some pics. Just have to find them.

Here are the pics. People said it would run out of fuel early due to the petcock being so far forward... Dont worry it will be fine. :-)

Thanks a lot! I'm gonna try that with my build! Going for a similar look:
