    7/8 Internal throttle dirt cheap

I started with the assembly for a Honda z50 also known as "Monkey". Got the parts per side for less than 30$

Here the test run on a piece of alloy pipe.

the hole diameter is 10,5mm, the slide channel is 8mm

Notice: The travel of the original monkey throttle is very short, you might have to cut the slide-channel longer and also the one in the grip as well.

Can you explain how this pulls the cable? Angled slots I understand but I can't picture this one in my head.

I've been hurting my thinker trying to figure out how this slides as well

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the original Honda throttles had a spiral piece welded inside the throttle tube that mated up with the cable pull piece. If you look at that piece you can see how that would work.

Awesome, that now makes sense. I figured it had something to do with that angled slot but couldn't put it all together.

Weee... I've got one of the old Honda internals on my CA95, guess it's the same. The handle bars have a slot cut in them for the hinge pin and the control housing has a lip inside to keep the external throttle sleeve from sliding off. Good for making your own I guess using the parts though.

Hey, how's that throttle assembly holding up? I'm thinking of ordering the same kit, does it require a lot of maintenance?

Cheers, already ordered them. Planning to throw them on a friend's bike with very short clipons this weekend.
We've got all the parts, just need to mill the clipons.

Hey guys, I've been trying to contact the OP but he doesn't seem to respond despite being online. Has anyone else tried this? The OP mentions making the slide notch longer as the little hondas have short cable travel. Will the spiral in the turn grip allow longer travel?

I don't think it would unless the outside handle has more spiral inside it than the z50 used.

For those who may still be confused, here's a diagram may help. Basically all you need to do to make this work on a different set of bars is cut that slot / hole in the bar. The stock slot looks VERY long...
