    Broken Sprocket's Trashbagger GL1000

This bike is totally inspired by dirtycracker's Scumbagger. In fact it is basically a copy with some of my own flavors and styles added.
Deadline for this one is Fuel Cleveland, May 9 2015. Shouldn't be hard to meet the deadline, as it is nearly done. But I want to get some miles on her and get the bugs worked out before that.
Photo documentation has been sparse because all my electronic devices are ancient and my used ipad doesnt even take pictures.Click image for larger version

I removed everything under the fake gas tank and removed the real gas tank. Gonna run a AMF turtle tank. Cut the upper frame braces and welded in a new tube and cross brace. Cut off a boat load of tabs and brackets. Made a new air box from a briggs and stratton air box. I even have a K&N filter for it.
'76 GL1000 has a kick start! Didnt know that till I bought it for $400.

The saddlebags and brackets are ebay finds off of early 80's goldwings. The brackets had to be repositioned, cut, welded and mount holes drilled. Right saddlebag holds the antigravity battery. I really like the little mud flap at the bottom of the bags. MAybe thinking of adding some Yosemite Sam Back Off mud flaps?
The hinged rear fender and taillight are H-D aftermarket repops. The ass end really looks wide, fat, trashy. Mission accomplished.
The cockpit is some random buckhorns I had, stock gauges and a switch bracket I just took off of a CB550. Biltwell grips, CBR600F4i master cylinder and braided hose. Front brake lever feel is excellent!

Lots to show and tell on the wiring. I am not using any OEM wiring, modules, flashers, relays or solenoids. Made my own cloth braidied wiring harness and leaving most of it naked. I really love the look of this cloth wire. To me its really part of the way a bike looks unique. Starter solenoid is from a Murray tractor and is activated by the turn of the ignition key. Ignition key is from a dump truck, dont remember where or when, but it works perfect.

ID:	1279576Nice to know someone is watching. My capabilities are minimal for build threads. They always seem to be missing something?
Took some pictures today in the snow. How does it look/ What does it need?

Been Trashbaggin for a couple months now. Love this bike. Had s great ride from buffalo NY to Fuel Cleveland a couple weeks back. This bike is a mile muncher, has great power for hoodlum shenanigans on city streets and looks odd enough among a bunch of shovel or sporty chops. Click image for larger version

Next time I have the tank off I will take some pics of all the goodness lurking under that AMF Turtle tank.

                  Thanks Ramzilla.
I just replaced the 17"rear tire with a Bridgestone Trailwing dual sport tire. Really like it, rides smooth.
Friend of mine rode it the other day. He rides a late 80's FXR. He side my bike brakes, rides and accelerates better than his!

Shitcanning the entire wiring harness on those old Wings is a very smart move.

Good trend. There's actually a motorcycle under a "Gold Wing" once the stock shit is stripped off.

41mm forks w/ cowbells in some old midglide trees would be super rad. I know someone locally selling a set of midglide trees.

What size is the stem in that bike?

Stem size is 20mm I think. Don't remember exactly. I did an all balls bearing replacement (tapered roller cups and cones). Steering and braking on this old pig is actually really good for a 39 year old machine. I think the stock tubes are 41 mm.
There are a couple of these naked wings for cheap on Buffalo CL.

Don't know what the future holds but for now it's bone stock and makes me giggle every time I ride it.

I really like that you got rid of the fake tank. Looks good.
