    trouble syncing my carbs

I've got a 1981 kz650 and i just adjustied the needle jets so it'll run a bit richer( i've got pod filters)

but now that i've got everything back together i'm having a hard time syncing up the carbs. I've done it before with out any problems and i've got a carb syncer but for some reason this time its being a real pain.

any tips or anything i should try?? thanks

i know this is a real vague post and i'm sorry.haha

Bench sync it first. Off the bike make sure all the slides are the same height. Make extra sure you set all the needles to the same height. Make sure none of the slides are hanging up. Keep the rpm at 900-1000.
It can be a bitch sometimes, make sure it is on the center stand (to keep the gas in bowls the same height). Get it to operating temp first, then put a fan on the fins.

It could be a million different things and it's hard to diagnose over the internet.

This is why all the guys like Harley Davidson, one carb!

alrighty i'll try bench sync first. I dont have a centerstand but i put a 2x4 under the kickstand so the bike is more level.

Fucking A right. i need to get me some american haha

Using a carb synch is the last thing to do.
First is getting the correct jetting for running with pods.
I would go to the KZ website and ask others what slow jets are needed for the pods.
That is very important or you will waste a lot if time by trial and error.
Do not worry about the main jets at this time. Keep the slide needles at the stock position for now.
Make sure the floats are set correctly.

I really dont look at post dates: I figure if I see a post, and can give advice, I do it so others can use it when they see it

Still, I hate it when someone posts a subject, say they will try a suggestion, and dont tell us all what worked, or didnt work. Hope the guy worked it out
