need help installing 6 over fork tubes on an ironhead?

i just bought some 6" over fork tubes and have never swapped tubes out before.I know there are spacers involved and have heard of people using pvc, this is my first full blown chopper build and basically ive never messed with foks and dont wanna fuck it up.
any help would be appreciated thanks.

I am assuming you're working on 35mm legs. Your spacer will need to be as long as you are extending the legs; ie, you will need a 6" spacer. Cut down 6" pieces of PVC; they will go on top of the spring stack.

I'm not sure if the mods will let this fly, but I did a write-up with good pics on how to rebuild forks on the other chopper board, if they clear it I can post up the link.

Exactly what he said, I used metal rod on my Sporty because that's what I had lying around. On my Honda, I used wooden dowels for my 9+ front end. Just follow the directions in your manual for disassembly and you'll see how easy it is.
