    Default Brass Exhaust Bends?

    Hey there,

Anyone out there know where I may find some angled exhaust sections similar to whats pictured in this photo?

They appear to be brass, which would be perfect for the exhaust I am planning on building this weekend. I have never seen anything similar, but really would like to buy some. Thank everyone!

If you can't buy them, make em. You can buy the brass pipe, cut the parts and braze em together, then polish. of course some of the steps could be farmed out, brazing or polishing. The tips look like smaller pipes inside larger pipes. Hardware store probably has copper pipe that size, just a thought. Let us see what you end up with, looks cool.

I actually found them, but they are only used for bar railings. I can't find one with an OD less than 2" though :/

That's not a bad route, Klondike. I'm going to keep that in mind. I have this weekend to decide what the hell I'm going to do.

    Um no.
Brass cannot withstand the constant cooling/heat cycles.
It will fatigue and break in no time.
It's more than likely a coating.

Just because we see a pretty part on a newly built machine doesn't mean it was wisely chosen. They won't get particularly hot that far downstream from the exhaust port, but pipesupport matters so they don't crack.
Those long tubes have considerable leverage...

Try 'em. If they crack, replace with a different elbow. It's only metal and they may work very well.

I'm with farmall on this one.

They're totally feasible if supports are utilized properly.

If I were doing them I'd TIG braze them if they had to be done that way...then again, I'd sooner build them and plate them
