mini drum parts - what am I missing?

Hey y'all, looking for a little help, as just laced up this old hallcraft mini drum, and missing a few parts to connect it all together. Can someone check out the pic, and tell me what I've gone and fucked up somehow? What am I missing to stabalize the plate while the wheel moves, and use to pull the brake arm back?

Hombre you need to stabilize the backing backing plate, then make a catch for the arm,
Pull the 90 up in front of your front leg.
then it will all make sense, use a old oem springer catch for the actuator arm.
