Got started on the exhaust. Need to figure out brake linkage at the same time so everything fits together. Also need to cut off the kickstand mount, and move it forward a bit as its right where i need to mount the primary side peg mount, and it looks kind of strange right in the middle of the frame.
Seat is out getting covered at Big Jakes in Austin. The sections that are done will be inlayed into the rest of the seat. Wil lbe 2 rows of piping around the outside, cant wait to see it done.

Had to stop with the exhaust, since I'm not sure exactly where the foot controls are going to be and how far they will stick out. Started on the primary side. Had to move the kickstand up a few inches to get the peg where i wanted it. Shifter is coming through the center cover on the primary. I have most of the bearing made up, I'll try to post some good pics of how it all works when its done.

That shifter set up should be pretty clean running through that primary...another well thought move on this build.

Something small. Had been kind of stressing out about the shift linkage, as the stock rotory top links suck. No room above with the oil tank, and didn't want the 1 down, 3 up pattern by running the linkage facing down. Made up this little piece from 3/16" stainless and filed a square hole in it. Should be shifting after tonight!

"People's Champ" can mean a lot of things to different people but looking at it from the perspective of an "unknown builder" who is on the same level (or higher) with the quality, customization and craftsmanship that goes into the invited builder bikes, this thing kicks some major ass.
Good luck again Vince!

Thanks man. Thats kind of the way i looked at it, but there are a few "real" shops in the running for it. Pretty nervous on how voting will go with some big names in it. Top 6 would be a HUGE win for me, just being able to go out there and be part of it all.

Shift side finished up. Have to make an adjustment to get the pedal down a little bit, Kind of had to guess on where it needed to be until i could sit on it.
Need to get this springer finished up so i can get it to chrome. Made a little headlight bracket, single hole and theres a locator in the back so it cant twist. Managed to drill and tap that hole without going through the top.

Well, the clamp i had made for the shifter didn't work as well as I'd hoped. One flat spot and a set screw allows a bit of play. Made up a new one, full square/ set screw, works much better
left pair is the original, right is new
put a little bend in the arm to get the peg down a bit.
