That's right guys a DNA that took a head on at 40 and just twisted. Was on my way home Saturday night and was whacked head on by a drunk early twenties girl. Shattered my Tib / Fib and partially amputated my foot.. Day 4 in this bed and two surgeries down I'm keeping my foot, and should make a full albeit slow recovery. I tried posting a pic of the springer and rest of the carnage but it wouldn't let me. I've got some up on my instagram(the same screen name) if you want to check them out. But guys be careful out there, and I'll have a rebuild thread going as soon as I can

Glad to hear you survived getting whacked head on by a drunk. Good deal that you get to keep your foot; the problem with hand and foot injuries is that they have a bunch of little bones that never go back together quite right, but it still beats the hell out of losing them.

glad you are ok man!! when I was in the hospital last year with a spinal cord injury the hot Purdue student nurses would come in 4-5 deep at 7am wanting to take my blood pressure and so on and I told them if they were gonna come wake me up so early they were gonna have to help me shower!! they all pitched in. it was an awesome display of teamwork LOL!!!

As far as I can tell the springer, and controls took the brunt of it all...she's already getting rebuilt in my head but I haven't seen it in person yet. I joked with the Xray tech about using their table to check the frame out. I probably will strip it all the way and take my time just to make sure its square and all is well...no need to get in another tumble because I wanted to cheap out on it. Good news is she has full coverage insurance.

No shit. It may even shorten your riding season. Cold really fucks with me now and 30 years ago I didn't even care. I'm not really sure if that's all the bumps through the years or you just become a pussy as you get older. Then again, I was always told "you are what you eat", Get better soon!
