Cool bike man! My girlfriend's sister just gave me an 82 nighthawk 650. I'm torn between chopping it up, or leaving it relatively stock cause they only made the sohc nighthawks in 82.

Got a little time to work on my bike today. Well the tank anyway.

                Vented cap from bung king

I'm sealing it with KBS coatings tank sealer. I've heard nothing but good things about their products, and my grandfathers chevelles frame has been coated in one of their products and it's lasted for at least 5 years.

The kits in my truck, so hopefully I get to it tomorrow.

Finally got around to deal up my tank. Plugged the bung holes in the bottom of the tank with bung plugs. Bung. Plugs.

Am I saying bung too much?

Now that everyone's uncomfortable, on to the pictures of said bung holes.

This is pretty much just dish soap

                  And this is just rustlick

All of the surface rust is gone

The zinc does weird shit to brass

Starter button is on and ran through the neck

Also mounted my key switch in the electronics box I need to finish

Waiting on a set of cutoff valves and throwing away my HEI stuff in favor of a CBR F2 ignition

expensive little fuckers, but out with the old and in with the new I guess

I also brought my fusebox into the 21st century

im preparing myself to do a similar build when i get a house this winter and this thread answered alot of my quesions about hardtailing on a budget. im impressed with your ability to make identical bends using a trailer hitch.

any chance you have a build thread for your truck somwhere? that things bad ass. how much custom fabwork did it take to attach the ford cab to that frame?
