Anyone know of anyone that can reline a Bell Moto 3? I was checking out the guys over at Hellmutts.webs.com they do some great work but their turn around is 5 months. I would like to have it done for this summer...?
So I've been meaning to do this for a bit now and finally got around to doing it the last couple of days. For those that wear the vintage helmets you know that they shit kinda goofy on your head and like to balloon up when your on the freeway. I relined one of my helmets a while back but it took some time in doing and I knew
Rene relined my moto3, took about a month & it came out so good,
It fits my melon perfectly now. It was always kind of loose even when I
bought it new 30+ years ago. [email protected]

i just realized the helmet i am wearing in that old photo in my avatar is the very
same helmet He relined for me. Bell Helmets were made to last. not sure about the
current ones on the market.
I did mine with a biltwell $20 kit. Its not as nice as a hellmutss but its about 10 times cheaper. I pulled out the foam shell and it fits like a large or so. I'm going to shave down the foam and put it back in for a medium fit. The biltwell reline kit isnt as snug as a biltwell novelty helmet. Totally worth the money though.

You'd be surprised just how far above and beyond Hellmutts will go - - I've had two helmets relined by them - - 3 yrs on and they both look new
