Machine shop recommendations? SF
I moved to SF a few months ago and now I need a machine shop to bore my jugs, remove and set new guides, and bead blast. I went to a shop and they ended up just being a middle man for a machine shop and wanted to charge me $900.. Anyways Im looking for a MACHINE shop, does anyone have any recommendations? I searched the great interwebs, went deep inside google and can not find a shop so any help is appreciated, thanks

You might try a speed shop or talk to someone who is into vdubs. They have cylinders sort of like a scooter. Not just any auto machine shop can bore and hone a harley cylinder. I have had some that were fucked up when they honed 'em. Make sure they understand the clearance you want too,.001 or.002 to a car nut is waaaay too tight.

Hannans Machine, they are on Mission blvd outside of Oakland. They are good, honest and been doing Harley machine work for over 50 yrs. Paul Hannan recently retired but the shop and long time employees still there.....

Sharpy's in Belmont, 20 miles south of here. Down the street from my shop, we use them and he knows his shit. Bikes, cars, what ever you got that you want fast or well machined. Plus he always has stories to tell.
