Oil Slick pegs...
Now I dont know about you guys but where I live everybody and their mother has a car that leaks oil and holy fuck its annoying to come to a stop put your feet down and BAM fucking oil film on the bottom of your shoes, It annoys me to death to have my feet slipping off my pegs so I thought of a solution. went to zumiez, found a little cutie to lay my charm on walked away with some free grip tape, stuck it on. now life is good. no more oil slick pegs. Not much of a how to but if you are having the same issue now you can fix it.

Good idea, awesome that you got it for free, Ive been planning on doing the same thing with my stainless pegs. Keep up posted on how it holds up.

Ive don't that on my round pegs, feet kept slipping and it chewed the griptape up a bunch. im sure it will work better with the flat pegs. good idea

Yah some lanes are coated with that noise, when coming to a stop I avoid the center of the lane (usually a heavily coated black spot) at all costs when I get pole position either far left side of lane or right... just beware if you choose far left fuckers will try to get on your right for turns on red, and if they don't have enough clearance to do so can bump ya so there's that. But hey grip works for the shoes... but just remember it doesn't work on the tires getting coated in the oil from it, so I suggest getting into a better lane position habit asap too.

That's a good idea. I try and avoid that middle lane at all costs at intersections. I usually just get splashed by the water from the cars' A/C system.
You know the spray on Bed liner (rhino lining) works pretty good too, if your grip tape ever wears out. You can cover your whole footpegs. And you can usually get whatever colors too. I did this on my last bikeLast edited by DaNgER556; 08-09-2014 at 5:35 PM.

Upside to big oil slicks though? I dumped my bike over the weekend but there was enough oil I pretty well just kept sliding. Perfect!
