Biker and friend Killed this weekend.....
He wasn't a member of Chop Cult although he frequented a lot of events. He went on a the last two El Diablo runs with us and Slab city and all the Born Free shows. He was a great guy who always had his friends back and lived for bikes. He helped me build my last couple of chops.
He was on the 101/134 freeway, in North Hollywood at 3 am Friday night/Saturday morning and had pulled off to the shoulder, he probably ran out of gas. Him and his bike were struck by a drunk driver and he was killed instantly. The driver is in custody.
He died the way he lived out on the road coming from the bar, off to see a girl. He wouldn't have had it any other way. I can't help to think that if I was with him that night things would be different. We spent many times siphoning gas from my tank to his on the side of the road. I guess I will never know.
You were a great friend and you will be missed by all that knew you.
RIP......Manfred Pino

This just seems unreal. I met and knew Manfred from EDRs 11 and 13. Manfred and James were the first two dudes we met on our first EDR. These guys hung with us through over a two hour hot as hell roadside break down when they had only just met us the night before. Spent the rest of the trips hanging, drinking, tazing, laughing with these guys. Real salt of the earth type guys!
Nothing but good times riding and laughing with your crazy ass. You will not be forgotten.
I will always consider you a friend and will miss you Brother.Last edited by OlDirtyTrousers; 01-12-2014 at 8:19 PM.

That sucks even worse losing a friend to a drunk.
DUI should carry hard time every time because driving drunk means the lush doesn't care who they run into or over.
RIP.
