The woman I talked to at Deals Gap said they never run out of camping space...not sure if she is underestimating the amount of people coming or what? I'm going to try to get there around Noon Friday to be safe. A buddy and I are headed down from Richmond...if you want to tag along send me a PM. Gonna try to hit the road at about 3 or 4 am...

This is true, but they told us that their max capacity for camping was 50. We think we can get it to 75 without them raising a stink. They've never sold out because there's just not a lot of people that choose to camp at the venue. We are hoping to get between 100-150 guys there but really don't know if it's going to be 40 or 200. Plan for the worst and hope for the best.

Tours? haha I will say a reserve fuel cell is almost a requirement with a 2 gallon or less tank, on a GPS there when it works... the signal is blocked most of the time by the mountains, it will say something like 3 miles to where you wanna go, but by the time you've wrapped all around the kick backs etc, you've gone 15 miles... but bear in mind if you run out on the way up, you can turn it around and coast it all the way back down and if lucky, hit a station which are few and far between btw. I hit fumes many times and ran out once, before I learned to just ride the clutch on down hills feathering brakes to save gas, I saw a few dudes pushing up hill last year after being out of gas and all I could do was shake my head... no stations up top just in the valleys.

Good info- I just moved to Murphy NC, about 30 miles or so from the gap and I would love to make the trip but my scoot isn't ready- Maybe for the QCB Bash in August...

hey folks today I went to the wheels through time .that's a cool place to see. if you didn't know the owner even has a tv program called whats in the barn . oh yea gas is $3.80 for regular up there in the north Carolina , but its some nice riding
