You can probably find a red 3 wire l.e.d. light that will fit in there. You could leave the lens clear.

What he said. That way everything will still look clean and tucked away.

Oh hell yeah. And if you don't want to do it and the chrome is good I'll double your investment and give you $10 for it.

you can buy a little 2 wire/ body grounding socket, and a dual filament bulb. Ive done that on an old semi beehive light once to make a tail. Got both pieces at napa I believe

Yeah you can dual filament pigtail from your local auto posers store. Might have modify the socket to make it work but you'll figure it out. I did it with an old bullet turn signal light from the 40's.

You can get an LED bulb to fit in a standard 1159 socket. They come in red, can get those at the auto parts store too. That way you can run the clear lens.

Simple 2 wire socket and your good. Here's a light I made from a civil war era camera lens and a remote oil filter housing

This should be easy, hell you can make a taillight out of just about anything, beer cans, hand grenades, even old hummingbird art, see this thread "How To Wing a Custom Taillight"

It looks like you've got it pretty easy, you already have a housing for the socket & bulb!
