Default Another wannabe hipster sporty build...

So I had an ironhead and an old bolt on hard tail laying around at the beginning of summer. I mocked up the following monstrosity but never completed it enough to ride because I hated it.

Fast forward to a few days ago I wrestled it up onto my workbench and proceded to hack on it a bit. Now it sits at 40 deg of rake and 4" up in the downtube.

Hopefully I'll get to bend up the backbone tomorrow. I'm thinking of running this GME tank I scored the other day for 20 bucks.

Front end is gonna be an old P&P thats about 8" over I have laying around. I'm trying to decide between a 23" and a 21" wheel. More to follow as I make progress.

I really want to but the 23" wheel I have isn't chrome and the 21" is.

I had a couple of hours to spend in the shop this morning so I mocked up a new backbone. I'm not sure if it will work with the "Super 70's" style I'm aiming for yet. I don't have a 1" die for the bender so I'm dropping off the upper rear legs at the 4x4 shop this morning to get bent up. I'll be going through and cutting out the bottom casting later and cleaning up the rear engine mount area.

Here's the old P&P and 23" I found at a swap meet two years ago, another $20 dollar score.

Looks like you will have plenty of room to place the oil bag behind the seat post. Seems like 95.56% of the sportsters out there have it mounted in front of the seat post (including mine) and I dis like it. Yours will balance the bike out nice and there will be room for a battery and electric below the bag. Maybe a horizontal bag to keep things extra thin and fill in extra space.

    Keep up the good work.

It appears to me that's not the frame he's going to run. Looks like that's another one being used for mockup.
