if youre getting rid of the air box youre gonna have to re jet. the pod filters offer a lot less air restriction. i've got pod filters on mine and i havent re jetted the carbs yet and its a real pain in the fucking ass. If you dont want to deal with re jetting, stick with the air box. its a lot less work. haComment

Ill be putting air pods on mine soon, and probably changing the exhaust and everyone says you have to rejet this put your dick in that. to be honest i have no idea what that means. itd be sick if someone would do a indepth tech article on rejetting carbs.Comment

right ...well from my understanding the air box on my bike not only sucks air in but it also heats it up as it goes on its lil trip though my engine i was thinking about just puttingthe jets in and running my air filter along side mypipes word! or i might just ride it in to the dirtComment

i was talking to my pops about carb and jet situation on my bike. he was telling me about Dynojet, get a jet kit (said his ran him about 70) and it comes with parts and a little manual that tells you how to set it for exactly what you got going on, pod filters, exhaust ect ectComment

I run a dynojet stage 3 kit on my suzuki gs650. I run open pipes and pod filters, the cheap emgo ones. I cant tell much difference than stock as far as how it runs but it was way too lean with stock jetting after I pulled the mufflers and the air box. As already stated, the kit comes with vague instructions but wasnt hard to do as long as you take your time. I downloaded a carb rebuild manual off the net somewhere and rebuilt mine while I was at it. The carb rebuild manual was useful in the rejetting so Id suggest maybe trying to find one, or atleast a print of your carb broke down so you know what youre looking at.
Having said all that, ive heard of people just buying the single jets they need off ebay and it works out for them for like 10-15bucks but I have no idea how you'd calculate what sizes you would need. Maybe you can search on a suzuki intruder specific site and find out some info on that. Either way, good luckComment

you have to re-jet to make it richer. The dyno jet kits are great but the instructions are really just a guide line. it take trial and error to get it just right. sometimes you also need to put a little back pressure into straight pipes to get better dieveability.Comment

is this what i'd need? http://www.starcycle-usa.com/servlet/Detail?no=15283
also someone mentioned to me i might be able to just move the needle up a notch or two and that would solve the problem i've been having with it running to lean. i've got the uni pod filters... and a four into one exhaust with no tip/muffler.
i got a couple answers on another thread but the more opinions i can get the better.... thanks everyone.Comment

If you alter the stock exhausts and the air intake then you will have to reset.
Drivability means, idles correctly ,does not hesitate when giving it throttle, no popping on decal OR when giving it throttle, otherwise feels like a stock bike when new.
Go to the intruder website and ask the forum what slow jets to use when running straight pipes.
Get results from several owners, not just one. Then you can find out slide needle position .Comment
