    Stretched Enfield Bullet Project (Photos)

So a few months ago I got a great deal on a rare Royal Enfield from craigslist. It is a great looking bike, and I couldn't help myself from doing some cosmetic work.

This weekend was Brooklyn Invitational and it got a lot of attention.

I fabricated the seat mounts, and made the seat out of wood.

Made a new swing arm bolt to account for the new swing arm mounting position and length. Also made a new brake bar for the rear brakes.

Added a velocity stack to the carb that I got from an old triumph.

Minimized the wires and moved them all into an aluminum can that's mounted next to the coil. The battery is in the left trunk.

I love the new look, and I like the feel and riding position after the stretch.

    Thanks for looking!

wow. It looks great. I was a little nervous looking at the before picture thinking that it was to nice to cut up. But you did a real nice job with the customizing.

I forgot to mention in my first post, EVERYTHING that I did to the bike is reversible, and I have all the stock parts safely stored in a bucket incase I ever want to make it look like it did when it left the factory. That was an important part of this build because the bike was so rare. Thanks for the support!

I've worked on and test rode several R/E bullets recently and I kinda like them,
your bike adds a whole look to like.

                  Is it an old one?

Looks good, I have no idea so I'm asking: Do those shocks perform at all at that angle?

The angle makes the softer than stock for sure. I originally was going to replace them with 2 inch longer springs from a cb 750 ( they didn't have a shroud and I thought they looked cooler) but because those were long they were insanely soft at that angle.

The stock ones being pretty short are soft enough to make the ride really comfortable, but now bouncing around like crazy over bumps.

Cool bike, looks even better stretched! Should have come from the factory that way.

They have a recently opened Royal Enfield dealer where I live in the Philippines. The new bikes are fuel injected. Dafuq? :O

The "rare Enfield" has Indian badges..And that "pod" behind the cylinder doesn't have a magneto mounted to it..so hopefully it's an Indian-made Enfield. Not much rarer than say Harley Sportsters...and certainly more common than Ironheads. Which is good 'cause you're not actually choppin' up a rare bike.

The bike may not be more than 10 years old. And parts for it are more readily available (and cheaper) than they are for some Japanese bikes of the same vintage

There is a very active worldwide Enfield community online. You should be easily able to find out if any owners have done carb conversions on these things if that's what you want.

Ace Performance in the USA is beginning to do development work on the EFI Enfields
