    Default Diy Flake Buster/Bazooka

Here is my homemade dry metal flake gun. I started with a Harbor Freight sand blast gun #96972 cost $12.00. Removed all the extra stuff from it so it was just the gun, nozzle, and suction tube. Then I cut the suction tube down to size, using a push in air tube bulkhead fitting I attached a flake container (small horseradish jar). You also have to make some small holes in the jar lid so as to not create a vacuum inside the jar. I used a simple 360deg barrel valve for a regulator (low air pressure is key when doing dry flake). total cost around $17.00. It can shoot flake of any size. Note this is for applying dry flake to a wet clear. Use just enough air to get the flake moving and get it to lay down when it hits the clear, no more or you will ripple the clear. This also drys the clear alot faster so you have to do it in small sections but it works pretty well. Beats the hell outta the 80< bucks for the real deal.
