    89 Rigid Sportster

So I've been building late 60's early 70's Honda cafe racers for the last three years and could finally buy my first Harley to build on . So I still have a shit ton to do but her she is in all her glory . Let me know what you think . Adding a p-pad and passenger pegs for the wife . Would love to do a Springer front end , and those bars are changing real soon .

Classic. Nice to see a clean, well proportioned Sportster build that doesn't have to rely on over used " look at me" styling gimmicks.

I wouldn't change a thing. Looks great. Any pics of the way the license plate is mounted next to the battery box.

Why are you changing the bars ? The only thing I would maybe do is narrow them up a bit but that's just nitpicking. I think it looks great like it is. Very clean.

Been running 14" for years for comfort.

Front Street Cycle make some very nice stainless apes custom bent to your specs. I have one set of 14s (awaiting installation) and ordered another with integral risers. The welded-on risers will solve the "bars can shift when pushing the bike" problem. The first pair will get TIG-tacked to the bottom parts of my Biltwell risers before they go on a different bike. (If the bars ever get bent I'll cut them off and mill off the tack welds.)

Thanks for the advice and kind words . I just didn't ever liked the bars so I've been thinking of running some Biltwell's H-Bars . Cant wait to get it back from re-jetting and ride the shit out of her.

So until I have the cash for new bars I cut mine down , and dam do they feel better . I have also done a coil & key ignition relocation to clean it up a little bit . I'll post pics in a few .

Still to wide I think , maybe another inch and a half off both sides .

Made some mounts for passenger pegs . Need some new hardware and new seat and p-pad will be ordered soon . Then the old lady can go for a ride with me , its always nice having a hot chick on the back of your bike .
