    Old frame material, NEW again?

Thought I would show you the frame I am just finishing. It is farther along since the pic but you get the idea. The original featherbed frames that Norton made was with the material Reynolds 531 which is a manganese moly tube. This frame is made with Reynolds 853 which is an air-hardening tube with an ultimate tensile of 210,000. Original frame weighed 52.8lbs and the new frame and swingarm weighed in at 20.8lbs. Since the picture was taken it was finished w2elded and gussets added and now weighs 21.2lbs. Hope you like it!
