I think the forks are perfect, the bottom of the frame is sitting nice and parallel to the ground.
And I personal like the headlight cover, I have even seen some Japanese bikes running vintage square headlights under them and they look cool.

The thing that throws that bike off the most is the tank - way too long/big

IF it was my bike that would be the 1st thing to go and be replaced with a sporty styled or similar tank and I'd be hunting a decent set of pipes that flow with the lines of the bike but that's just me

Agree with Panheadpete---tank is big---I would go with an alien style tank and lower and narrower bars.

Hi all, new guy here. I've been screwing around with bikes since the mid 60s. Have had a few Harley's over the years, most recent was a 2008 Ultra Glide which was like riding the living room couch. Sold that and thought I was all done with bikes.

I got the urge and told the missus I really wanted another old Panhead, it is the one I miss the most. I ran into a guy who had this little beasty and we managed to work out a deal. Motor is VERY tired, paint is from the late 60s, basically it is a nice complete bike wating to get torn down and done over.

I have two years before we move out to Arizona to "retire" and I hope to finish this girl up about the time we move.

                      Best,, -Harry

Beautiful! I would leave the front alone and just focus on the fender. Maybe a different seat after you are done with the fender?

picked it up today, 76' ironhead kick only decent shape gonna have to do some card and electrical work before I get into hardtailing changing bars or most anything else.
Welcoming suggestions on where to go with it next once I got the engine straight.

How's my 78 Ironhead lookin? Gonna put the chain and rear brake back on it. Got a new genny coming in tomorrow.

Building it myself in the garage, so everything takes more time. Asking for some winter ideas.

                            Thanks guys.

I'll be switching out the rear and front pegs to put them on a two seater. Maybe making a new light bracket. I'll work on the sissy bar some more this weekend.

I've already repainted the tank but I think a shorter springer would look good. Any input on this? I think my springer looks a little off for the bike
