Hey thanks man! I appreciate it! It's growing on me for sure. Every day I see it I dislike it less and less lol. It'll be staying until I decide to do an actual paint job on the tank. For now I need to focus on other parts of the bike. Like chopping that huge stock rear fender.

Sportster -04, a few minor mods, rear fender, 48 style tank, seat, exhaust. Also installed a 1250 kit during winter. Still looks boring, any suggestions on what to do next?

You are off to a great start

Get on the internet and search google images for Japanese Sportsters and also check out shops like Crazy Orange not just the obvious ones - in my mind the best sporties in the world are being done in the land of the rising sun

Pay particularly attention to the seats pipe tires and bars with tank type/size/location being critical - for some reason they are nailing it here and you are already more than 50% there

Their bikes look fast sitting still - something that's hard to achieve - big hint here is less is more but they generally all have good paint

Here's one that speaks to me

Good luck with it and start a build thread in the sportster section to encourage others

Panheadpete, thanks for your reply. I love the japanese bike style, and I have tried to go in that direction with my bike. Looking at the bike in the pic I think maybe the seat and the tires make the big difference. I will probably be getting a set of Shinko e270 tires, not sure if I will go for all black or whitewall.

                  Alright chaps
I'm completely undecided over which of these two tanks to run with, opinions please?

Avoid the Bobber cliche and go black - notice how a lot of their cool sportys are almost solid black?

Other details like small air cleaners - pipes with clean lines or 2-1 go a long way to getting THE look

Im interested to see the front of your bike any chance of a pic or two please? Those shrouds look interesting

Got time to burn? Have a scroll down through here - always a few nice bikes come through

Kingback and Andy99, I have to agree with panheadpete on all accounts here.
