Helmet paint. strap OFF or strap ON ?

Should I drill out the ri ets to remove straps before paint or just leave em intact for safety reasons?

I'd leave em on, cos i'm lazy and just mask em(i used a blob of blutack).

Yep. I had to see if somebody would pick it up. Im thinking about just painting right over em. Bad idea? Might fuck the paint if they spin?
