In the photos I've seen, it seems the older tanks (pre 75) have a basically flat bottom on them. I need a tank like that to sit securely on my rails. And the length is important as well since I need it to cover the large gap in the center
Here's my buddy's 70 CB with a sporty tank.
I HATE the way it looks with those stupid frame rails.........like a lot. But somethin inside of him wanted a "peanut tank".......
I'm working with this.... Only diff is this guy went the hard tail route and cut right where that diamond would have connected, but that wouldn't matter really. I just want something to mount on top of here. 2nd photo is a tank mounted on this exact bike (yes I've tried contacting this guy). And 3rd photo is stock tank on it, very disproportionate the way I want to go
........Well, hear me out.
This is the tank it came with.
Not Really a "Craigslist Boober Bobber" .
It was a "survivor" but not a pretty showbike, just a survivor. Heated backbone for rake etc....
Anyway. A possible solution.....
A SUPERGLIDE TANK!!!.....
Hella sexy......
Covered the rails pretty well. And they're pretty common I think because they aren't as desirable cuz they're wider.......

Lol....Bummer.
I came into a "Frisco'd" low/no tunnel Superglide tank that had two bolts sticking out the bottom that woulda been perfect for you until I lopped off the bolts.
I ended up welding a tab on the front to run it on my bike.......but then I discovered where they filled in the tunnell has a sleight weep.
I'm gonna try to fill it with lead.......then I'll re mold the tank pretty and hit it with some paint.
If all else fails I'm hoping I can cut off the bottom of the tank and have someone make a set up like TJ Brutal Customs does it the vlx bikes to run sporty tanks (I don't know his name on here) but it looks simple enough ?
i had to post a pic of my fave tank...snared it for 30 bux...(it's worth twice that as a conversation piece>>)
i fucking love it...
Is that a Hummer tank? It looks too wide to be? Pretty sweet. That'd be about the only awesome way to run a speedo. I'll give you 36 bucks lol. Just kiddin. Sweet score.
Here's a Harley Hummer......

it may very well be a hummer, but i think it might a king sporty..
lol @ 36 bux...=)
what...when it fits my bike perfectly.?.no way...
i think it may have been a twin-bunged king sporty someone modded...
whatever the case, its really, really cool,IMHO.
btw, think there's a way to positively ID this tank?
(the petcock seems to be on the correct side.)
