Thanks guys appreciate the compliments. We get that this build is not everyone's cup of tea and have been stoked on the really positive responses we've received.

My belt going to hell seems to be the popular consensus both here and on CC's FB page. Could it happen? Maybe. Is it likely? Not really. Tensioner should make the difference, but if it goes bad, I'll share the experience so the naysayers can gloat.

I ride my sporty on 6 miles of gravel/dirt everyday. I have over 20k miles on the bike since I got it 2.5 yrs ago. Belt is still going strong. .............Comment

Pushing would be bad. We hate pushing.
Tensioner (in theory) will keep the belt in contact with the pulley without requiring the belt to be as tight as the factory spec. If processed, a foreign object is less likely to be forced through the belt material.
That and we've done bad things to belts for many years and as long as they are maintained (over tensioning is often the death knell of the belt drive) will take some serious abuse.
The bike is not likely to see the African plains, cross boulder laden streams in Russia or race Dakar through South America, so we're pretty confident the occasional dirt road bomb run will not end in a trailer ride home.
It would appear we are alone in that level of confidence.
Not sure how a tensioner could help as the tooth engagement would preclude the belt finding any slack in the teeth adjacent to each side of a rock making a trip across the pulley. Anyway, it was just a thought. I'm not contending that failure is eminent, but if it was on my bike with my luck I'd end up pushing it home.

Yup. We see just as many chain failures (and they are rare as well) as belt breaks.
Would be cool to see a pic of you ripping it up on a gravel road!

For reasons that probably made more sense in a whiskey induced haze, I entered the Scrambler in the Anaheim Easyriders show. I'll be hanging with the chopper elite as well as the elephantine wheel bagger folks and a number of SOA wannabies. Fair chance it'll be laughed out of the convention center. Hope the belt survives long enough to make a hasty exit.
If you make it, hit me up, I should have a backpack of Burly swag.

Here's a video ... not really "ripping" but gives you an idea of the road I'm on everyday.
