centering rear wheel

so im building my first bike with the help of the guys out a nash motorcycle and i got my pm wheels on the way with a hhi sproter setup i was wondering how i center the rear tire without the motor and tranny so i can mount my rear fender up?

you don't. The tranny is absolutely essential for determining chain alignment and wheel offest. I just went through this exercise on the Spartankiller project in the American bikes forum. Seek and ye shall find...
