    7th Gear Designs is located in sunny Southern Cali.
    We specialize in custom C/S and rear sprockets for just about any bike. If your looking to change up the gearing for more off the line punch or more top-end for the long open highways but cant find what your looking for, we can help. 7th Gear can convert your 530 or 630 chain to a 525 or 520, add a custom patterned rear sprocket in steel or anodized aluminum to complete the look.
    We can also do HD rear pulleys and early big-twin and Sporty drum brake sprockets.

    All our sprockets are CNC machined in one operation that cuts the teeth, bolt holes and hub diameter before it's removed from the machine to ensure concentricity of these base features. Secondary machining for aluminum units are indexed and are non crucial to the base features. Steel units are completed on one operation. Aluminum units are all machined from 7075-T6 and steel rears are 1045. All C/S units are 4045 steel only.

    Here is just a small sample of what we can do.

    Kz400 'Cross, #530 chain (2 in stock one red, one black);

    GSXf750

    For the wifes SV

    Custom off-set rear sprocket;

    Custom one-piece off-set C/S sprocket, these are machined from one piece of steel, not cut and welded like other are

    Wanna go trick? Hows about a double row 520?

    We also have electronic ignition kits for the KZ twins from 400 to 750. The kits are also available for all metric twins (except on-head ignitions at this time, but coming soon!) and inline 4's, British machines and American twins.
    These are optical systems that are completely self contained and fit completely under your points cover NO external box to mount. The system also does away with the dreaded mechanical advance unit and when powered up only draws a few Milli-volts unlike other systems can. The unit features 2 pre-programmed ignition curves that can be switched on-the-fly and a tach output. The optical system ensures extreme spark stability.
    The kits come as a complete upgrade, replacing the coil and plug wires as well.

    We also carry Shorai Lithium battery's that are one of the lightest and strongest dry cell technologies around. Need to get rid of that big lead acid unit?, the small foot print and the ability to mount the battery in any direction will open up your custom build by letting you put the battery any where you like!

    7th gear also specializes in custom parts like steering stems for swapping front ends, no trial and error, want a set of USD forks on your cafe project? Not a problem.
    '00 ZX7r to '85 GPZ;

    So if you need something special, something custom let us know, no idea is too crazy!
    Shoot us an email for pricing and availability.

      Your site doesn't seem to have a way of ordering or a price. How much would an ignition kit cost for my kz750b??

            And the fork clamp work keeps coming... A fresh water jet cut set of 6065 aluminum clamps to fit '07 GSXR forks. They will be polished and then anodized blue capped off by the same top nut as above.

              A custom 2 piece sprocket for a customer with his specialized engraving... It's an aluminum center with a steel ring. Stainless steel button head cap screws will hold the two parts together. The two also lock together so that the torsional load is on the two pieces not just the screws.

                I want to give props to Steph, a customer who has a 7th Gear electronic ignition and a front sprocket who just completed an insane 3642 mile ride in 92 hours (8234 miles round trip!) on his custom HARDTAIL KZ400!! He had the smallest bike of the bunch, but out of 20 bikes he finished 8th! Congrats Steph!!

                  Just a quick update, the new "on-head" electronic ignition unit is on track for a November release, here is a graphic of what the new unit will look like.
                  The green plate will be the 'adapter' plate that the controller will mount to, the plates will be specific to the type of machine, such as the KZ250/305 or the XS series and CB series machines.
                  This new system carries all the same features as the kit listed above, just in a smaller package. This unit is also perfect for proto-typing a system for an odd-ball engine.

                    Another custom sprocket set for a KZ400 Hard tail. It's running an HD spoke rear hub with a #420 chain.
                    Here is the bike, JM built this for his wife.

                    The wider rear hub required an off-set front C/S sprocket.

                    The rear also needed to get pushed out, just not as much. A separate spacer was made so when the rear sprocket needs to be replaced he's not buying a one off super custom sprocket with a spacer built in. The spacer has the edge polished before the black anodizing was done.

                    The rear sprocket, it has the Iron Cross and his wifes' name is a custom font.

                      Having issues with bad CDI boxes and pulsers? Tired of hunting EBay for used parts with no guarantee they will last or work at all?

                      7th Gear Designs now has access to the necessary parts to adapt our high performance optical ignition to the Yamaha Virago (all models!)

                      This kit will allow you to run one of 2 system configurations

                      - Draws only a few milli-volts unlike other systems.
                      - Comes standard with 1 sensor input that allows 2 pre-programmed timing maps, switchable on-the-fly.
                      - Controller monitors engine speed and 7 other calculations 90 times a rotation to provide accurate engine timing across the RPM range.
                      - 1:1 tachometer output.
                      - Automatic coil shut off protects coils from burning up.

                      - Multi-spark operation with up to three separate sparks per compression sequence, which can be individually timed.
                      - Coil saturation (dwell) can be set to different values at different engine RPM's.
                      - The rev. limit value can be programmed independently from the rest of the curve.
                      - Tachometer output can be adjusted to work on almost any tachometer.
                      - The number of engine starts is recorded.
                      - The number of times an engine exceeds a maximum user defined RPM is recorded.
