Personally I wouldn't but you would learn alot doing it. You could also buy a bigger japper 650-750 for the same or less dough and have a bike that has some nuts to get out of the way. But if it were mine it would have studded tires in the winter and be a winter beater for those 3 times it snows 13" down here! Show some of these southern cats how a yank gets along with the snow!Comment

I had a guy offer me a 73 honda xl175 for a 100 bucks today...In decent running condition. I'd like to make a super narrow rigid bobber out of it. Anyone ever done anything like that? Has anyone here every hard tailed a dirt bike? Here's a photo of the bike i'm talking about.

How about that, in less than 2 hours you've got 3 examples of exactly why you shoudn't do it. That's unless you want a bike that looks like a Kikker Hardknock that's been put together by a class of drunk, blind children who misplaced the instructions.
God bless the Internets.Comment

Just chop the fuck out of it ride the fuck out of it and be happy who cares what the internets think.Comment

that wasnt a dress up kit its how i dress....... it better than any of the "bobbed" sportys with struts on here. onces its got a fender and a seat itll look like any other brat styled bike.... i know its not the best but its practise so when i can afford a "real" bike i wont fuck it up.....Comment

Nothing wrong with chopping a dirt bike, just don't chop a little dirt bike. Now, an old KDX450, that'd be nasty.Comment
