Was riding one of the KZ cop bikes awhile ago and thought occurred to me that I ought get one and do a trad style "bob' on it i.e. just cut a lot of crap off of it.

Kz (Ltd) 750 twin

I just got my hands on a 83 Kz twin belt drive. I'm up in the air with getting a hard tail frame for it being how it would almost be impossible to use the belt drive. Does anyone have any idears on this?

Some of the KZ were belt or chain as an option. You might be able to find sprockets that fit your bike. But sometimes the output shaft was different between the belt and the chain models. Worth checking into though.

Why on earth do you think it would be different? It is a little wider, but it follows the same path as a chain would. Build the hardtail like you would for a chain, but have it kick out a little wider on the drive side to clear the belt.

I have that exact bike. Check out my picture on the previous page, the red and white one.

Hardtailing it should be no different than a chain bike. Just maybe add a little extra clearance since the belt is a bit wider.

If you really wanted to, you could convert it to a chain. But I can't think of a reason to do that...I love the belt...
