    Default Help: Tank sealing question

I found an old tank that I had to modify the bottom to fit. After cutting into the tank, I realized it had been resently sealed. My question is how well will a new coat of sealant adhere to the older, and because I have no idea what sealant was used the first tieme, will it matter what sealer I use? I guess compatablity of sealers is the question. Thanks in advance.

i have no experience with using any sealers here is my advice/thoughts. when you weld on the tank its going to fry a few inches of the old sealer on either side the weld. your best bet is to totally get rid of the old sealer
