    Shovel cam/ignition bolt replacement?

So you know the cam bolt (skinny guy that your points rotor spins on, runs thru the middle of your ignition) broke on me and was easily replaceable. Reason I bring this up is that one also broke in my iron head a few years back and wandering if it's the cheap Taiwan bolts from my parts store here in Oklahoma city. They said that they are the only bolts they can get. Does anyone know if there is a grade 8 type bolt out there in the universe anywhere? I've talked to a guy that said it happened once on his shovel in 25 years. I don't have any cam play or anything and it's all snugged up tight. Anyone else ever encounter this problem? -Red.

Yep, I did it once a long time ago. Never happened again.

I have never had one of those bolts break on me. And I'm on my second Shovelhead. IIRC, the bolt only holds the breaker cam on the shaft. Other than that it does nothing.

Seems even an Asian bolt should work in that application.
