Adjusting screw for what? A/F ratio? If it is like the other carbs I have worked on, that will only adjust the ratio at idle to 1/4 throttle. You have open exhaust, right? Is that intake stock? If so, you need to look first to see if you have any air leaks. If the intake is open, and it hasn't been rejetted, you will need a jet kit, or at least some needle shims and a new larger main. I see above that you had the carb rebuilt. Maybe there is something blocking the needle jet? Either way, it sounds like pulling the carb is in order.

Good news.....hit the carbs with carb & choke cleaner......directly into the jet.....ran rough for about 5 minutes and then smoothed out and then cracked the throttle for a GREAT ride! Thanks everyone for the advice.... now to get the stupid tail light fixed....

Well....gotta break down and bring it to a mech. Can't seem to locate the trouble with the tail light. All other lights work except the tail. sucks!

This might sound simple but have you tried checking to see if a fuse is burnt?

If the sputter is dry and flat the float height needs to be raised a little, if it is a wet soggy sputter the float needs to be lowered a little. If you pull a plug and it's got black soot; it's a sure sign it's running wet and needs to be lowered.

If you're going into the carb to make changes; adjust in order of 1. Best main jet, 2. Setting needle height 3. Float height 4. Idle and RPM. Make one change at a time, and run it...sitting at idle only shows about a 1/3rd of how a carb is operating.

Let me know when you're headed over to Texas man! My bike should be done about that time and I'll be ready to ride with anyone! Where in TX are you going?

What would be a fair price for you, things are tight here right now but I really want a set for my bike.
Got any other photos of them? Are they glass or ABS either would work for me and I'll fab the brackets I want them tight to the back fender. I'm looking for the Street Glide look.

Thanks Much and you could contact me at tobor27@att.net
