I got a good deal on the mic luckily and I made the others more valuble since I had to drill and gut this one to fit the LED inside of it. So not a whole lot to report in progress.

Got the front mounts done for the battery box. Gonna use the swingarm mount and I'll add a tab on the back so it doesn't rotate forward from bumps and all the endos I like to do at stop lights.

And I got the spring mounts for the seat on. I know! I know! They should be welded on vertical but I like the look of them being on an angle and making the springs kind of curve back and up under the seat. And if I don't like it then I can always change it too, it's only metal, it can be changed! haha. Oh and I'm gonna get new springs, these are the old ones, they're bent and the chrome is peeling. Time for new ones to say the least.

Hoping to get the oiltank fitted up and mounted soon. Then I can get the motor in and and get the rear wheel set so I can mount the fender in the right spot. Getting really close yet still far away.

I've seen lots of lace paint jobs, but never one that looks like a Hawaiian shirt... :-)

I'm sorry to make you cry a single tear, it wasn't my intention but I'll humbly accept your praises of the work I've done so far. I'm pretty happy with it giving its my first attempt at building a hardtail from scratch.

And I hope Hawaiian shirt paint jobs are cool this year, or next year if my pace doesn't pick up, cause I don't wanna have to change it anytime too soon!

Brake drum bracket. I waned something different. I'm gonna remake it though out of a harder aluminum, clean up the un-eveness of the shape and make the slot a little smaller since it only needs about an inch of travel.

Had to mock it up again since I welded both of the front wheel tabs on. Just gotta cut the old ones off the bottom and mount an oil tank and I'm on the road!

Just another view. I've got too many ideas and things I wanna change but I really wanna ride a little this year before it gets too wet and cold for it to be fun so I gotta stop the gears from turning for a couple months or so.

I actually just checked it, 60 3/4"-62". I stretched the rear 3" and since I relocated the front whelk to the front of the forks it moved another 1 1/4" or so. It's long but it doesn't feel too long just sitting on it. We'll see how she rides!

A couple updates. New oil tank idea. The other one was too pitted to weld well enough, I just kept chasing holes so if I did ever finish filling them it would have benn all filler rod and 18 months of welding and grinding.

Made a new shifter, the old one slipped all the time so I drilled a hole through it and the shifter shaft since it had nothing to grip either and slid a hardened cotter pin through it. It worked, but it was too sloppy.

Got the top end blasted, and painted. Went silver with the heads...might be shovel envy. Might be that all black looked too boring. Not sure yet. haha

Attempt #1 at my oil tank. It kept stress cracking, so I smashed it with a hammer, and then through it across the shop a few times. I have anger issues. I'm seeing someone about it. haha

Go find a junk cylinder from a shovel or something and make it into your oil tank.

Front fender mounts. Simple, not sure if they'll stay forever but they'll hold the fender in place which keeps the water, mud and bum piss from skunk striping my shirts and coats, so she stays for now. Also I'm gonna round the frame side of the mounts so they won't be square when they go back on.

View of the whole backend. They look ok. Still not sure but time will tell I suppose. They're all stainless so I can polish or brush them. I don't wanna chrome anything, it's too expensive for me to justify when I could be saving for a panhead...or buying other useless shit I don't need. Also, you can kinda see the steel brake tab I made to replace the aluminum one.

Going white with it! Don't know why, just thought black was too easy. My first real freestyle bmx bike had a white frame, so I figure why not. I want it to pop a bit.

As a disclaimer, I'm rushing the hell out of this build. I know that if something is worth doing it should be done right, but I'm pretty low on funds, and if I did have money I'm also very cheap. I'm just trying to get it together in time to ride till the weather turns crappy this fall. Then I can tear it all down, sandblast the frame, strip the tins, polish maybe even chrome some things. But until then, it's getting rattle can paint to keep it from rotting and pitting. As well as any adjustments needed down the road, I won't be ruining a nice paint job or whatever. So be kind on the judgments please.

Got it partially assembled last night. My oil tank is hitting part of the motor though, so I gotta figure out what I'm gonna do there, notch it, move it or make a new one Other than that it went together pretty smooth. I have to bend or shorten my kickstand because the bike stands straight up, went pretty low I guess.

Not a huge fan of the white, maybe its just in combo with the tins but the build itself is very cool! Really dig the fender mounts you made. Tweak the oil tank somehow, it's sweet!

Thanks man! I really appreciate it. I'm gonna do my best to make it work, just not sure how yet. And the whit is odd, but I just couldn't do black, it was too easy. Luckily it's a cheap quick job so I can change it as needed or wanted. Thanks again!
