    Jockey or Tank shift?

Hey dudes, I'm planning on putting some type of hand shifter on my savage, but I'm not really sure which one I like better. Most of the tank shifters I've seen have the clutch attached to them, whereas the jockeys normally either have a foot clutch or if you go right side jockey, then a hand clutch. I'd like some suggestions on which route is better. Also, some pictures of what people are running would be nice. The whole concept of re-routing my clutch cable and fabbing up a shifter has me a little confused and I haven't really been able to find anything helpful using the search function.

Any help you guys could spare me would be awesome.

Tank shifter with a left foot clutch pedal. Jockey top is nice but depends on how your bikes trans id set up.

I fabricated a jockey shift / foot clutch setup on my sportster a while back and don't have any regrets. It's a lot of fun. A little tricky taking off from a dead stop at first, but a couple days of riding and it becomes 2nd nature. I'll post up a couple of pics pretty soon for ya. Maybe they'll help steer you in the right direction. I don't plan on ever switching back to a hand clutch.

as far as the shifter goes, did you just cut your shifter off and weld the new hand shifter on?

                          Me.
                          I got one.
                          Heck, I got two.
                          Few of each actually.
                          Maybe three.
                          Maybe.

Uh. Foot clutch and jockey is fun.
Tank shift is a change of pace.
I suggest a foot clutch.....somethin about running an "OH SHHHH.......moment" with one hand on the bars and one somewhere awkward doesn't sit right with me.

It also kinda looks like, I dunno, cheating maybe? Like making a handshift the EASIEST way possible. Minimal investment I guess? But I've heard that way is a lil easier than a suicide clutch on a hill.
To each their own I suppose.

Jockey would probably be easiest to fab up though.

the hand clutch mounted on the tank shifter seems to be fairly simple to me. i like the way that jockeys look, but it'd probably take me a while to fab up all the shit for it and i really dont want my bike to be outta commission for that long.

Foot clutch/jockey shift. Clutch on the shifter is sketchy. I run a foot clutch/jockey shift and it's became 2nd nature so quick that I think going back to normal would be weird.
