I have a lathe at work. I keep threatening to make an ignition cover, but I always seem to get side tracked... Last week I decided that engine/frame, and swingarm spacers should all be stainless steel

The homemade ones are classy slick and easily made on a non-CNC lathe. What holds tem on? Threads, clip, pressed o-ring, ape snot? I gotta know!

the domed one shown above I made for the Brown Sugar bike was drilled in the center tapped and a 1/4" stud was installed and lok-tited in it, then a metal bridge strap was bolted across the pillar bolts holding the electronic ignition plate that had a 1/4" nut welded to the center of it, then
you just screw the cover into it .

I just thought it looked a lot cleaner not having the two points covers screws sticking in it.

Here is a like to it...http://www.chopcult.com/news/articles/brown-sugar.html
