For all you laughing at me cause of Tuberider. Think I'll explain. I did a lot of surfing growing up. Lol. I wish I could get some work done on my bike. Having a job is getting in way. But will keep you posted every step of the way. How do u post pics on, so that it's not a link?

I didn't tear Shit off my bike. Most people start with something, I started with a bare frame and did a ground up build so I guess I just didn't Over Bolt it.

Things I just can't comprehend;

What was the person thinking when they bought their Vulcan New? It's Better Than A Harley, Cheaper Than A Harley, Looks or Sounds Better? I know it sounds like I'm bashing "Foreign" bikes, I just personally think the foreign "Cruisers" look like cheap piles of Chrome Shit.

For most of you guys, what you end up with looks 100% better than what you started with. I see the talent.

Looking forward to seeing the end result!

I have to agree on the Japanese v twin point. They don't sound the same, and are increasingly more expensive than Harleys on the second hand market. Why would I pay 7 grand for a used Japanese Harley wanabe when a Harley will set me back 3 to 4 and a half? I aim to own an ancient battered ironhead some day, but I agree that the Japanese in line 4's and twins are top notch. I guess it's like the British bike fetish. Most of them are by all accounts absolute shite, but to each their own.

Got a couple of hours to start on the bike. Last pic of her before I start.

Photobucket

Ok the guy that had the bike before me had really crap workmanship. He even tried to get a earth from the fender, the fender is plastic material.

Photobucket

Now I don't know what everyone thinks but I hate the fanny pack that is on the front.

Photobucket

Great the fanny pack was his cable junction box. Fanny pack gone, cables will sorted out later, but does it look better????

that thing has the dreaded double backbone like my 500. limits your tank options a bit.

So I've started!!! Where do I start. I think the best place to start is just taking stuff off I don't need or don't like I guess.

She's looking better already I'm in 2 minds about the rear fender. Drop the fender down like in the pic or cut that fender slimline?

I'll be watching this since I'm really lost as to what to do to my build, too. I'm also torn about the rear fender. If you don't plan on riding with a passenger. Why not eliminate it all together? I personally love the no rear fender look.

I didn't like the sweep in the rear fender, now that I've dropped it onto the tyre. It's not looking to bad now, but I still think I'm going to make or get a different fender.

If your like me, no matter what you decide to do now, you will change your mind and redo it again latter.
Sometime I think I like the build more than the ride.

I know a lot of guys like them and run them, but I'm not a fan of high tanks, but it's your bike, run what you like.

that high tank just dont flow right. leave your tank sitting the way it is, shorten your rear fender and reverse your risers for some extra stretch.
