Battery location
Will there be an issue of mounting a sealed battery to a swingarm and still running shocks? Will the battery withstand the abuse?

I'm doing that with my bike. I can't see why it wouldn't take the abuse. It can't be worse than a rigid. I had my battery in the same location in my rigid that it'll be on my swingarm. In the rigid that battery went up and down with the rear tire at every bump just like it will on the swingarm. Time will tell right?

I've seen it done many times if that matters.

Thanks man, I actually axed that idea as it was too bulky and really messed up the lines on the bike. Now the battery will be directly attached to the swingarm.

EDIT: Nope it was here on this board.

not mounted on the swingarm. this one's bolted to rear of the trans plate using those two pre-existing holey holes. that's 2"x4" rect steel tubing and a Yuasa 12v - 2.3aH battery (kick only). the fender is also mounted to said trans plate (and upper frame crossrail)
not sure where on a swingarm you'd mount one anyway - on the right side behind the pivot bolt? - fugly, imo
hope this helps.

F I M i dig all your builds. Im following the kz now. My bike is a cb750 i was thinking about mounting the battery on top of the swingarm between the pivots. Im building a seat/fender similar to the one your putting on the kz, so there wouldnt be a fender clearance issue. I think ive found a round oil tank/battery tray that will get the job done. Just gota do some measuring.

Good morning. I'm a gear head for many years. building a chopper rigid with S&S pan and baker 4 speed kicker /electric start. Ran out of room to mount battery box so I was going to mount the box on the lower leg of the frame chain side.
any thoughts
