My pops got into the Masonic Lodge here late last year. I'm not privy to the shit that goes on inside... but all of the people he's introduced me to seem like great people.

I am a master mason and i gotta say it is one of the best things i ever did. It is a "real" brotherhood. Don't believe everything you see or hear about masons. Media tries to give us a bad rap. But it is a really good wholesome family oriented organization. "To be 1, ask 1".

Know that's the motto. I've been trying to find a local Mason to ask.
I'm looking most for a place for intelligent discussion.

kirk, keep in mind religion and politics arent allowed in the lodge, but other intelligent topics are encouraged.
and rubman, not necessarily. Muslims can be Masons, all the requirements say about god is you need to believe in a higher power. if you believe in nothing, then your own words hold no consequence. whoa, i sound smart....

and thats fine. youre not required to believe in any particular god or gods, just that there is something higher than you. and no, not your stoner friends.

I am a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason, Past Master, and was involved with the Minnesota Grand Lodge for awhile. I am not as active as I was when I was. But I still talk to a lot of the brothers.
