Fork Seals Help!!!!

I'm trying to remove the old fork seals off my Showa 35mm's. So far I was able to "peel' most of the seal off from one tube, but the other seal is pretty much melted to the lower fork tube, it won't simply pry off. I'm going at it with a small flat head, but I know when I try and put the new seals in, it's not gonna seat flush to the tube cause bits and pieces of the previous seal are still stuck.

Can I use a propane torch and melt the crap out of the old rubber? Or should i pick up a circular wire brush and try scraping it off with a drill.

Any tips?

Had to do the same thing today. Used a light grit in a dremel. Cleaned up well

A seal puller would have helped alot, they are cheap ($5-10)and available at most auto parts stores. Hit the seal with a torch just enough to get it warm then use the puller to pop it out. Clean up with sandpaper or scotchbrite.
