Jesse and I were talking....

Mother fuck a campsite. We're thinking we should just roll in like totally rad dudes and find a stealthy trail to ride into the forrest. Then we camp wherever we want because this is America and the wilderness shouldn't be regulated.

After we get kicked out, we'll find a hotel or figure out something legit.

Thanks for the pre-run Sharky, now my wife is having second thoughts about sitting this one out. I'll say this Canadian Bacon jokes are at your own risk if she goes, in Canada bacon is bacon not ham.

LivingCanvas - I've got a 750 ml bottle (and may pick up a couple liter ones too) for fuel, I'd be more than happy to bring them along just in case.

Another option is Sherman pass road all the way.. The East section twists through varying landscapes &crosses
the upper Kern river at Kennedy Meadows, (name changes from Sherman pass to 9 Mile Cyn. Rd) the road
eventually winds it way down into the Owens Valley just N. of Pearsonville at Hwy 395 (also a gas stop) perhaps a bit
knarlier than the route to/from Kernville, & even less traffic. in fact, late season trips, like mid to late
October, there is virtually no one back there.

Either route is awesome.

Getting a bacon woodie the size of one of those Sequoia trees just thinking about it! Just point the way and I will follow the rest of the rabid swine hounds. Gonna start working on getting that spit for the mini-pig wrapped in BACON!

I don't care where we go as long as we go, drink copious amounts of alcohol & ingest unhealthy amounts of bacon

If I can swing it who would be down for a little swine?

I'm thinking of bringing a 20-25 lbs piglet and spit roasting it during the day, but it will only work if I've got 8-10 hours worth of heat if not I can just bacon wrap some other prime cuts and have them done in an hour or so. I have gel cold packs and a cooler bag that should keep the little guy cool enough till roasting time. Figure start him out first thing Saturday and be good to go by dinner time.

Pete, the pig looks good, but you're not going to want to sit in front of that thing all day with roads like Sequoia has and We'll be changing locations from Friday night to Saturday night.

Friday July 20th
Meet Spot 1:

We'll be heading over the 78 to Lake Elsinore and can pick more up where the 78 meets the 15.

Meet Spot 3: Truck stop where the 395 & 15 Meet. Time Unknown.

Saturday:
We'll have a location in Sequoia for Saturday for the late comers to join us. Exact place TBD.

All we need is 1 person to babysit the spit, gonna grab a battery powered thing that turns it so its only the fire that needs tending. But like I said if its too much a hassle bacon wrapped tri-tip is still pretty tasty.

I'll either meet up for the official start at Hennassey's or catch the crew coming off the 74 in Elsinore. I got the permission slip from my wife, but she says once she gets a bike she better be allowed to go on these things too. Daughter of a rough neck, former soldier, wife of a sailor roller derby girl AND Canadian so she'll fit right in with the shenanigans.

We have any tentative plans on overnight locations? I'm burning some leave time for this so I have a full day Thursday to pack the bike up and do a little high speed trial running to make sure I don't come across any screwy gear problems and then Monday as a just in case buffer and to recuperate if needed. Anyways I just need to put down campground locations or some shit to get this approved.

BELAY MY LAST - just used home address and put camp grounds don't take reservations.

I'm late in the game here. Can you give me a better idea of where you will end up so I can determine whether I can make it?

NEVER MIND I SEE MORE DETAILS WILL BE AVAILABLE AFTER BF>
