What you need done? I could cut you something on my lathe....if you need something turned.

Man I' know that it's been forever since I've updated, school started and then well all of my free time was gone. I had friends tell me that they would make the port hole bungs for me and it never happened. And I looked on the net and the ones that would work had plastic covers and not glass. But I'm hardheaded and it's what I want for my bike. So the project is on hold. It's the last damn thing that I need, it's such a pain to only have one thing left for the bike to be done.

If its the last thing, maybe you should get the plasic covers and use them until you can get the proper parts you need/want. At least you'll have something to ride.

It wouldn't hold up to fuel, If it did I would have. I'm still looking for someone or a company that has some. One does in England but there to small. Or either way to big.

I think an optical quality epoxy would probably work out better, since you want to probably customize the shape to fit your tastes. http://www.masterbond.com/properties...ymer-adhesives

Awesome thanks guys, I am looking up the sites now to see if there is something there that will work.

And for the epoxy will it withstand fuel and not come off of the plastic?? if so that will work for a port hole site that I found.

Maybe I can have that dragon company make me something at a fair price. I hope

You may be better off using a fuel proof gasket material to seal the lens up, saw a tank on Instagram yesterday that had a set of portholes that looked great, but they were a smooth mount without any bracketed parts. I'm not sure what you had in mind but it'd might be better to allow for some give/expansion/contraction to keep leak free.

BTW the fuel bottle holder set up is pretty awesome.

Love the work you are doing...

F#cking love your bike, I used ammo boxes as well, not much for storage but I can pick up a bottle of whiskey on my way home...lol. My bike has been described as steampunk, mad max, water world, scrap iron and one person even said "Looks like a Kawi got a$$ raped by a Transformer without lube!" That last one is my favorite...lol.

Other than the cost of the bike ( a long story about my ex wife... her standards... my credit ), I have about $600 into the chop and that includes most of the materials to build a springer front end out of some hex stock I found at a junk yard. Just like you a 110 flux core mig welder and about $2000 worth of whiskey and beer consumed in the design process.

Are you set on port holes?? There are tons of different styles of sight glasses used in pressure vessels in the petroleum processes and such. I used to work in the oil patch and have seen hundreds of such items, but you also find them in scrap yards and no one cares about them. They are more worried about the scrap metal than what is attached to it, and you can get them cheap. Most of industrial sector will have something similar.

Here is a link to some new ones but you might see something you like.

Keep us up to date on your build!!

A few years ago I tossed together a KZ440 rat bike.....and used a childs gas mask with some LEDs in it......wired to a toggle switch. I dug it alot.....and I think it would look bad ass on your ride if you can find one.

OMG your bike is FUCKING badass, I love the stream punk end of the world theme. That is what I'm going for. My next build is going to be a stream punk bike. That port hole site I think is going to work. I just have to see if they use glass or plastic for the sight.
And that gas mask reminds me of playing Fallout on ps3 which I love to death.

My bike isn't anything too crazy but I've been chasing the post apocalyptic survival idea down bit by bit, but everything has to be functionally useful I don't like the whole pack Rat Bike thing, RAT bikes are a different thing altogether (Ridden All the Time). To me its a whole lot more to it then just rattle canning stuff black and putting a bunch of roadside garbage on the bike. Ammo cans not only look para military bad ass but add storage for a tool roll and a couple extra odds and ends. Industrial strength sissy bars with Frankenstein like bolts holding things in place. I love stuff thats got a semi raw unrefined look, items forged out of need not want.
