I'm sorry crappy shit, she should have at the very least been found guilty of manslaughter. Personally I think that anyone found guilty due to negligent driving should lose their driving privileges indefinitely, no exceptions.

i'm not suprised by this, I'm sad to hear it and hate to hear it but nothing our "justice" system does anymore suprises me.

I'd be curious to know if the judge belongs to the same country club as the girl's parents.
If so it wouldn't surprise ME either....
Of course it could just be social prejudice; value of the life of a better-class citizen vs one that maybe isn't
