Sorry to hear, Dennis. Lay off the bike for a little while and get healed up good, I wouldn't worry about anyone giving you shit for caging it while you get back to 100%.

Sorry to hear it, Dennis.. I hope you mend up soon and get back on two wheels. One of these days in the near future we should meet up at that BBQ joint in Mineral Wells. It's fairly centrally located between you , me, and Salty. I'd love to see your new shovel, Salty.. very cool scoot. Are you riding it, or tearing it down to put your touch on it, and make it your own? it's a cool scoot just as is.

Sounds like a plan Johnny. If its anytime real soon tho , I would be on my other sporty.
I've got some work to do on the shovel . It looks pretty cool and has some cool parts on it......but it runs like shit right now. Its mainly little things. wiring is a mess and carb needs some attention. but yeah after I get it running smooth, Im gonna tear it all the down and start over . Clean up the frame, put a closed primary on it , mids, bars, pipes, tank, fender .........clean up and polish some of the existing parts,
But with all that said . I just want to get it running good enough to trust it to ride to Just Kickers and then start the tear down.
Everything kinda hinges on the Greasy Dozen build , whether I get picked or not.
But yeah I'm up for a ride and Mineral Wells sounds good. Matt Farris and Chris Nowell might be up for that too and Whietrash , if he's got a bike running , and Lance of course.

Oh, the SaltyShovel lives! Hey Gabe, throw up a picture or 2 of that thing on the thread. Congrats on the new project; I'm sure that you'll have it running like a top in no time. Oh, and +1 on the closed primary. Never been a fan of the open ones; seems impractical, and we all know that practical is what every "chopper" should be!

Yeah Nose. Here it is the day I brought her home...
And now .....I've found lots of work to do......I found a bent pushrod and the carb is pretty jacked . heres just an example of what I've found.
Lots of little stuff to deal with ........so might as well take it down and start over. we will see how it goes. I'm excited to have it as a project tho

I'm envious Gabe! I sure wish I lived closer to you so I could come over and watch & learn. One of these days maybe I'll head out early in the morning and ride over there and check her out. I'm pretty stoked for you, bro! I loves me some shovels!
Oh, and even if you don't do any major mods, you should start a thread here chronicling your progress... or at least over on Facebook like you did today. I've been snooping in on Trouble Leather's ressurrection and mods to his FXR. I dig getting to see what & how ya'll are doing what you do to them. Any knowledge I can gleen from all you cats is much appreciated.

Your welcome anytime! Of course I dont really know a whole lot. But you can learn right along beside me. I have gotten to where I can find my way around on a Sporty, This shovel is gonna be a little different ....but its still just hunks of metal with some nuts and bolts and stuff ..............

Hell Yeah, Brian! We need to get in another ride sometime soon.. I've kinda been tied up since R2R, and I'm itching to roll with my "Bike Nite Buddies" again! Maybe after things settle down a bit... sounds like it's been a rough time as of late for the some of the bike nite crew.

Hey, Ritchie. Thanks for the offer f assistance. Much obliged, bro. I'm a bit better than I was a few days back, but I'm still pretty rough. I've got a seven inch incision in my abdomen, and it hurts a plenty. It's gonna be awhile until I'm able to ride again. Hell, I can't even drive right now! But it's given me a little time to conspire about future events, and I'm contemplating a new bike project for next year.
Salty's new bike looks like it's got some serious potential! I'm a little jealous.
