Dent in down tubes, big deal?

I found a swing arm shovel frame with title for a smoking deal. Only problem is one of the down tubes has a small dent on the front. The tube looks straight except for the dent.

The guy had an accident and I think the dent is when the frontend leg broke and came back and smacked the frame.

He said he measured it out and it's straight, plus the dent is pretty small, a marble would fit in it.

What do you guys think?

a dent in the tube is a forcefull hit. Front leg broke?- "IS the head tube square/straight?" would be my first question. If you got a good shop and some skills it can be fixed if the head tube is not damaged.

He said he measured everything and it's still straight.

The front fork tube got bent back and I think that's what hit the frame. I don't think he hit a still object with the frame. it honestly doesn't look that bad to me, but I'm worried about the strength and overall condition of the tube.

I could get it for $400 so it's almost worth it for me.

Just trying to justify it, lol

I'd buy it too. you could always get a piece of DOM tubing where the inside diamiter is the same as the outside diamiter of the downtube, cut it in half and just weld a plate over it to take any stress away from the dent.
