Thanks dude...

I put some miles in with the risers, I'm gonna keep them one way or another. I have some paughco P risers that I might try, or maybe just build the risers on to the bars... either way, I think I am down with the rise.

Looking good. Like both versions of the bike. I plan on building an EVO sporty one day. The hardest part is going to be figuring out which direction to go with it

That's what makes the sportys so good... short of a tourer, you can build it into pretty much anything...

I have the final direction I'm going in my head... updates as I go...

Lowered swing arm and new rear brake setup will be going on next. 4 piston gold nissin caliper on 11.5" rotor via Fab Kevin bracket. Oh yeah, 150 on the rear now... Only thing that is absolutely permanent in this pic is the wheel setup(talking about bolt on stuff). Just pushing parts around to see what I like. Thinking I'm gonna mod that hood some kinda way, maybe make it level to the rest of the bike instead of pointing up like it does...

Got the GS500 bracket and caliper working with a stock 10" rotor on the stock rear mag. Stops pretty well. Keeps me on the road till the new bracket gets here anyway. I like the caliper tucked up there behind the shock, but with the shock position on the new swing arm it's gonna have to hang down. Gotta give a little to get as little, I guess...

Any more photos of the lowered swing arm process? I dont really understand what you were doing in the one photo you posted and what the result was. Bike looks cool though, love the low slung look.

So the shocks will stay the same length, but the axle will get moved up an inch and a half, which will lower the bike by that same amount... But I am actually going to lower the bottom shock mount too, which will lower the bike another half inch by itself. Once the new brake adapter gets here, I am gonna move forward with that project.

Same thing is done to my friends shovel.

really, the biggest advantage to doing this is that you can run a longer shock and still be lower, as long as you make room for the extra travel.

Are you concerned at all about getting a lift under it? My bike was lowered with Burly shocks and I BARELY can fit a lift under it. If you have something pretty low to get under it, show me what you're using.

I have a lift table, for one. But yeah, as it sits now, I can just barely slide the scissor stand under it. BUT, all you gotta do to fix that is push the front or rear wheel up onto a 2x4. I could easily make a semi perm "bump" that attaches to my table right where the rear wheel goes, then problem solved.

FWIW, I already have to use the long truck ramp to get my bike on the lift in the first place. At least it's not a car. We used to have to jack cars up to slide the lift arms under them... well, they still do, but I'm not in that biz anymore, so... granted, a lot more kids on air makes it easier.

That's pretty funny that you called that from what I said...

I used to own a shop called Dubsquared. Had some pretty dumb fast GTIs... But yeah, too funny

lower...

Getting the rear where I want it, which is good because the dropped swing arm ended up not working out. Even at 9.5" the shocks were gonna be too long... Need to sort the kickstand out, then the chrome dust covers come off and the front comes down another inch or so. Rides great right now too. Stiff, but nothing harsh at all.

Apes are growing on me. Still gonna narrow them, though....
